See most current B-52 RAP tasking messages, which contain a statement form COMACC. It read (paraphrase) "Focus on the GWOT...I will accept risk in other areas". The ACC/IG's representative responded to this question with, "that was not the staff's intent". Unfortunately, leaders at the group/wing level don't have a staff-intent-o-meter and have to read the written words. It appears the "risk" may have been the careers of some Lt Colonels and Colonels. Oh well. The rest of the story. Now that I'm in 8AF/A3, I'm charged to develop a system to "fix" the perceived problem created by the RAP tasking message (and associated directions) and re-focus the bomber (B-52) force on the nuclear mission.
